About me and my therapy practice
I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor, with extensive experience working with people in various settings. I offer both long-term, medium-term, and short-term therapy.
I attend weekly supervision sessions with a senior colleague, and continuing professional development opportunities to enhance my skills, including advanced training with the British Psychotherapy Foundation (bpf). As a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to Ethical Guidelines for Counselling Professions.
Practice description
Psychodynamic counselling is a form of therapy which can work effectively with treating emotional problems, and a wide range of conditions, such as depression and anxiety.
Individual therapy aims to address underlying issues that may be troubling you or affecting your relationships. During sessions, you will be encouraged to explore your concerns. Unlike many other forms of talk therapy, psychodynamic therapy seeks to facilitate change and emotional growth, as well as alleviate distressing symptoms.
My consulting room is a quiet, centrally located space in Thanet, within walking distance of the bus station.
My first session
The initial sessions, sometimes 2 or 3 will provide an opportunity for us to meet and determine if this form of therapy suits your needs, as well as discuss how we will work together. It will also be a time to address any questions you might have. Each session, including the first one, will last 50 minutes.
