About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative psychotherapist with eighteen years of experience. Throughout my career, I have held roles as a visual artist, ceramist, social entrepreneur, and psychotherapist. These diverse experiences have enabled me to empower communities through cultural participation and open communication. I have gained a unique perspective on collectivist and individualist cultural dynamics. My specialization involves creating a safe and inclusive environment where individuals from various backgrounds can effectively address personal challenges such as trauma, anxiety, grief, sexuality, and relationships.
My therapeutic approach is Transcultural Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapist, incorporating elements from Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I also weave in Freudian Analysis and Jungian concepts to customise therapy to each client's needs. I am dedicated to providing LGBTQ+ affirmative treatment, trauma-informed care, and cultural competence, ensuring my support is sensitive to your individual experiences and identity.
Practice description
In my professional practice, I strive to cultivate a warm, empathetic, and collaborative environment where clients feel genuinely understood and supported in their personal growth. I have extensive experience in addressing a wide range of issues, including cross-cultural practices, trauma, grief, sexuality, PTSD, self-harm, and relationship challenges. Additionally, I am skilled in navigating complex issues such as human trafficking, modern-day slavery and domestic violence. My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care and cultural competence. Clients can anticipate a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment to explore their inner selves, cultural identities, and emotional requirements.
My first session
In our first session, I aim to establish a comfortable and inviting environment where you can openly discuss your current challenges and therapy goals. Each session lasts for 50 minutes. During the initial meeting, I conduct a comprehensive assessment that addresses significant health concerns, your overall well-being, and your aspirations for therapy. I offer a nonjudgmental space to listen to your worries and to clarify how my therapeutic approach can effectively assist you. This session also lets you ask questions about the therapeutic process or my approach.
