About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Chin (Victor), an integrative counsellor based in London. I was born and raised in Hong Kong before relocating to the UK, and I’m proud to bring this rich cultural perspective into my practice.
In our sessions, I’ll walk alongside you with compassion, creating a safe space where you feel seen, valued, and heard as you navigate your path forward. Drawing on my experience within the NHS, I’ve developed skills to support people from diverse backgrounds through difficult times, tailoring my approach to meet your unique needs.
Having experienced relocation, social unrest, and life as a sexual minority, I understand how challenging it can be to find your footing in uncertain or unfamiliar circumstances. It’s not uncommon to feel alone at times or unsure how to share these struggles with even the closest people in your life. These experiences deeply shape my practice and allow me to connect with the wide range of challenges you may be facing. Your individuality matters, and I’m here to honour your experiences as we explore the path that feels most true to you.
Practice description
My sessions are offered in English and Cantonese. I am fully insured and have regular supervision to support my work.
I work integratively, tailoring my approach to each client’s needs. I often incorporate Transactional Analysis (TA) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) into my practice. I provide a warm, non-judgmental space that combines nurture and supported challenges to cultivate self-agency and empowerment.
My first session
Taking the first step into therapy can feel overwhelming, which is why I offer a free 15-minute online consultation. This allows us to gauge how well we might work together and for you to ask any questions about starting therapy with me. If we decide to move forward, we will arrange a time for ongoing weekly sessions.
In our first session, I’ll gain more valuable insights into what you’re seeking from therapy, while you experience what it’s like to be genuinely heard and understood in a therapeutic space.
We will also go through an assessment, discuss your goals, and set up a clear contract. The contract forms the backbone of our work, covering boundaries, confidentiality, communication between sessions, and fees. This ensures we are aligned from the start and helps us build a strong therapeutic relationship based on mutual understanding and consent, ultimately helping us achieve the goals you set for therapy.
Feel free to contact me to arrange a consultation.
