About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Vicky—a BACP-registered integrative counsellor working with adults (18+). I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call, giving us both a chance to explore whether we’re a good fit to work together.
How I Can Help
Life can feel overwhelming at times. You might be experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, or simply have a sense that something isn’t quite right. Perhaps you find yourself overthinking, feeling more emotionally reactive than usual, or struggling with sleep.
Counselling offers a confidential and supportive space where you can explore what’s going on for you, without fear of judgement. My role is to help you make sense of your experience and support you in moving towards the changes you want to make in your life.
I work in a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming way, adapting my approach to suit your individual needs, whether that involves the pace of sessions, how we communicate, or creating a therapy space that feels safe and accessible.
I offer a warm, compassionate, and confidential space for adults experiencing a wide range of challenges - such as grief, loss, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or unresolved trauma. Many of the people I work with are seeking to understand and process painful emotions or recover from experiences that continue to affect their present.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship, built on trust, empathy, and respect. I aim to offer a space where you feel seen, heard, and valued, and where your experiences are met with compassion and understanding.
Together, we can begin to gently explore what may be holding you back, develop greater self-awareness and self-compassion, and discover new ways of coping, relating, and moving forward.
Practice description
I am a qualified integrative counsellor with a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work in line with the BACP’s Ethical Framework and hold full professional indemnity insurance. I am also certified in Online and Telephone Counselling and a member of the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO).
My integrative approach means I draw from a range of therapeutic models to suit each client’s unique needs. My core training is rooted in humanistic, non-directive therapies such as Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis—approaches that prioritise autonomy, self-awareness, and the potential for personal growth. Alongside these, I incorporate insights from Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, and creative methods to support both emotional and nervous system regulation, offering a mind-body integrated perspective on healing.
For neurodivergent clients, particularly those who are Autistic, ADHD, or AuDHD, I provide a respectful and affirming therapeutic relationship that recognises and adapts to your individual needs. This may include practical adjustments to sessions (e.g., reminder texts or sensory considerations) and an open, collaborative approach to regularly reviewing how therapy is working for you.
I am committed to working in a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming way, continually expanding my knowledge through professional development. My recent CPD includes:
- Therapist Working with Neurodivergence
- Working Therapeutically with Adult ADHD
- Working Therapeutically with AuDHD
- Neurodiversity 101
- Introduction to Autism-Informed Practice
- Healing Trauma: Essential Strategies for Shame & Working with the Body
- Neuroscience, the Body and Trauma
