About me and my therapy practice
I'm grateful to my clients who have trusted me to support them through a wide range of mental health needs. It's not always easy to trust, especially when life becomes challenging. I strive to build a positive therapeutic relationship with clients, where they can feel safe, unjudged and accepted. Previous clients have used this space to work with bereavement, anxiety, depression, food aversion, environmental sensitivities, neurodiversity, bullying, change in circumstances, relationship dynamics and many other areas.
I aim to tailor the counselling experience to each individual client. This might mean taking a Person-centred approach, offering acceptance and validation along with a safe space to process and explore difficult thoughts and feelings, often, new insights into old behaviours can be uncovered and understood in a deeper sense. Alternatively, a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approach can help us tackle concerns head-on, collaborating together to set manageable goals in the here and now, acknowledging areas for growth and self-care.
Practice description
With core training in Person-centred therapy, I ensure that clients feel heard, valued, and understood. I use an integrative approach, drawing from training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to tailor sessions to each person’s unique needs. Whether it’s employing mindfulness practices, evidence-based CBT techniques, or other therapeutic methods.
I understand that seeking support can be daunting, especially during challenging times. I offer a compassionate, supportive space where you can feel heard and understood. Together, we can work through difficulties and find a path forward. Ready to take the first step?
My first session
During our first session we'll usually explore the counselling agreement, giving you time to process this and get answers to any of your questions.
We can then move on to the assessment, this is designed to help identify any areas which you feel I can support you with.
The assessment can help to identify mental health challenges such as anxiety or depression, as well as helping you to articulate a wide range of your current experiences.
Assessments are typically carried out during our initial and last session and be used as a gauge with which to measure the effectiveness of our time together, possibly identifying changes we could make or areas which need more attention.

I will email you any important documents for your attention before we meet for our first session, this will include the Intake form. Some people prefer to fill these in in person and on paper, with this in mind, I will bring hard copies to the session with me.
