Hello, My name is Brendan and I am an Integrative counsellor dedicated to helping people move towards a more positive and fulfilling life. I support individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, addiction, ADHD, bereavement, and other challenges that we all face at different points in life.
I’m particularly interested in understanding people’s life stories, their values, and their sense of purpose. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches and creative tools to make sure our sessions fit your unique needs. While I offer different methods, I believe that the heart of effective therapy is the trust and connection between us.
I’m approachable and relatable, with a background in community arts that has given me the privilege of working compassionately with a diverse range of people and issues. I’ve supported asylum seekers, refugees, veterans, people with disabilities, those affected by addiction, and many others. I’m here to listen, understand, and help you on your journey towards healing and growth.

Practice description
I am an integrative practitioner. This means we have the option to tailor the talking therapy to suit your individuality. I have Narrative/Attachment narrative, Systemic and Psychodynamic sensibilities but also draw on Person centred approaches. Having worked in brief and short term therapy settings I also am able to offer a solution focussed approach.
What you can expect from me as a counsellor:
A compassionate and empathetic listener who will seek to gain a true understanding of your life situation in order to help you move into a more positive and fulfilled state of being.
Someone who will not offer unsolicited advice but will challenge you where appropriate to help you move positively through therapy.
Someone who works within his competencies. If I believe you would be better served by another counsellor I will happily signpost you to someone who I think maybe better served to help you.
Someone who works to the BACP ethical framework and try to uphold ethical principles in the way I work.
My first session
Seeking out someone to talk to when you feel vulnerable or in crisis can be a daunting place to be. Looking for a therapist is no exception to this.
Talking therapy can be a life changing experience. When we are committed to the process of therapy, personal growth and positive change can happen. However, I believe this is contingent on finding the right therapist. The therapeutic relationship is key in the long term effectiveness of therapy.
I offer a 20-30 minute consultation on our first get together to see if we are a fit to embark on a therapeutic relationship. When we have established we are able to work together, we will look at any therapeutic interventions you may have had in the past and what worked well...and what not so well. We will also explore what your expectations are of counselling and what you would like to get out of our sessions together. We will then organise regular 1hr sessions (usually every week or fortnightly).
The cost of sessions is £45 per session (£40 for students and pensioners at a concessionary rate).
I also offer a 10% discount on block purchases of 6 sessions (including the concessionary rate)
What I can help with
ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Cancer, Depression, Disability, Health related issues, Loss, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, Redundancy, Relationships, Sex-related issues, Stress, Substance Dependency, Work related issues
Types of therapy
Brief therapy, Creative therapy, Existential, Integrative, Narrative therapy, Psychodynamic, Relational, Systemic
Clients I work with
Adults, Groups, Older adults, Trainees, Young people
How I deliver therapy

About me and my therapy practice
Seeking out someone to open to when you feel at your most vulnerable can be a daunting proposition. Looking for a therapist is no exception to this. A good therapist is someone you can trust implicitly with your experiences and suffering, to listen with compassion and without judgement and the ability to help guide you to a more secure and contented state of mind.
Hello, My name is Brendan and I am an Integrative counsellor dedicated to helping people move towards a more positive and fulfilling life. I support individuals dealing with ADHD and Neurodivergence, Anxiety, depression, bereavement, and other challenges that we all face at different points in life.
I understand what it means to not be in a good place with your mental health and how difficult it can be to believe that positive change can happen for you. If you are looking at this profile you are currently hoping that talking therapy can offer the change you desperately need to come back to you...or even find yourself for the first time. Maybe you just need the right person to share the moment you currently find yourself in.
Talking therapy is transformational for many people when the client finds the right kind of therapist for them. Someone authentic, trustworthy, ready to listen, able to help you bear the burden and willing to help you move forward to where you want to be.

What you can expect from me:
Someone who will work within his competencies. If I believe you would be better helped by another therapist I will signpost you to someone or somewhere who will help.
Someone who works to the BACP ethical guidlines as per my membership requirements.
A safe and confidential remote platform to work with you on your problems.

I will offer a variety of creative tools and techniques where they feel appropriate to do so to help with the therapeutic process,
My first session
Seeking out someone to talk to when you feel vulnerable or in crisis can be a daunting task. Searching for a therapist is no exception to this.
Talking therapy can be a life changing experience for those that commit to it and (most importantly) find the right therapist for them.
During our very first meeting I offer a 20-30 min free consultation to see if we are a fit to embark on a therapeutic relationship. Therapeutic relationships are key in the success of talking therapies.
We will look at where you are in your life and what you would like to achieve by having therapy and also touch on any therapies/interventions you had in the past and what worked...and what didn't.
We will then establish together if you would like to go forward with 1 hour sessions on a regular basis (usually every week or fortnightly).
Thereafter I charge £45 an online/phone session (£40 for students and pensioners).
I also offer a 10% discount on block purchases of 6 sessions up front (including at the concessionary rate).
What I can help with
ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anxiety, Bereavement, Cancer, Depression, Health related issues, Loss, Men's issues, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, Relationships, Sex-related issues, Stress, Substance Dependency, Work related issues
