About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes life feels hard. Perhaps you want to talk, but it’s difficult to open up to family and friends. Talking to a therapist can help. Therapy offers you a confidential space to explore your concerns and be listened to without judgment.
I am a person-centred psychotherapist, which means I believe that we all possess the inner wisdom to know what is causing us pain as well as the resources to move forward with our lives in healthy ways, but this capacity for self-direction can get blocked by life’s challenges. A relationship with a genuine, accepting and understanding therapist can free us to reconnect with ourselves and to find solutions to our problems. This philosophy is at the heart of my therapy practice.
I believe that what matters most is how you perceive your inner world and understand yourself, so we will work at the pace and depth you choose. My intention is not to analyse or advise you, but to listen to you and accompany you with genuine sensitivity and acceptance in your exploration of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. This can support you to make sense of painful experiences, gain new insights and deepen your trust in yourself to live a more authentic and satisfying life.
Practice description
I hold a Clinical Diploma and an MSc in Contemporary Person-Centred Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute in London.
As well as private practice, I have several years of experience working in community-based counselling services across London, supporting clients from diverse backgrounds to work through a wide range of issues.
I am fully insured and abide by both the BACP Ethical Framework and the UK Council for Psychotherapy's Code of Ethics and Professional Practice. This includes regular supervision of my work as well as ongoing professional development.
My first session
It can take courage to talk to someone about your most personal thoughts and experiences, so it’s important to choose a therapist you feel good about, someone who understands you, who is caring and empathetic, and has a personality you can relate to.
I suggest booking a free 15-minute introductory phone call so you can see how talking to me feels. This will also give you a chance to ask any questions you may have.
