About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Uzma Mukhtar, and I work as a compassionate psychotherapist committed to supporting individuals on their journey toward healing and growth. My approach is rooted in Integrative Psychotherapy, which means I draw from various therapeutic techniques to tailor sessions to each client’s unique needs. I create a warm, non-judgmental space where children, adolescents, and adults can safely explore their emotions and challenges.

I believe in a collaborative process, where we work together to understand and navigate your issues. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, Complex PTSD, childhood trauma, or daily stress, my goal is to help you find relief, clarity, and strategies for managing life's difficulties. I also provide support for more specific concerns such as domestic violence, relationship struggles, burnout, or grief.

I incorporate creative methods like play therapy for younger clients, and for adults, I use a combination of talk therapy and practical tools to help you build resilience and gain control. My approach is culturally sensitive, and I provide services in both English and Urdu/Hindi to accommodate diverse backgrounds.

I am dedicated to safeguarding and staying current with evidence-based practices to ensure you receive the best possible care. I offer both in-person and online therapy, depending on your preference and needs, providing flexibility in how we work together.

Practice description

At my practice, I offer a supportive, inclusive space where you can feel safe to explore and address emotional challenges. With a Master’s degree in Integrative Psychotherapy, my practice is designed to accommodate children, adolescents, and adults, helping them work through a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, Complex PTSD, and childhood trauma. My approach blends different therapeutic techniques, ensuring that each session is tailored to meet your specific needs.

Clients can expect a warm, empathetic environment where they feel heard and respected. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s everyday stresses, as well as more complex issues such as domestic violence, relationship difficulties, burnout, and grief. Together, we’ll explore your challenges and work through them at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I strive to empower clients, helping them develop the tools they need to manage emotions, improve relationships, and find inner peace.

For younger clients, I incorporate creative interventions like play therapy, while for adults, I use integrative methods combining talk therapy with practical coping strategies. My culturally sensitive approach allows me to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds, including those who are fluent in Urdu/Hindi.

Whether we meet in person or online, you can expect a nurturing and non-judgmental environment where your well-being is the priority. I am dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and safeguarding standards, ensuring that my clients receive the highest quality care. I invite you to reach out if you are seeking support in a compassionate and empowering space, and we can explore how I can best support you on your path to healing.

My first session

In our first session, I aim to create a comfortable and supportive space for us to begin understanding your unique journey. Before the session, I will send you an assessment form, which will help me gather important information about your present situation and history. This allows me to gain a holistic understanding of you as a person and tailor our work together to your specific needs.

During the session, we will go over the completed form in detail, exploring your experiences, challenges, and goals for therapy. This initial conversation is an opportunity for us to build rapport and for you to ask any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. Together, we’ll begin to clarify what you want to achieve from therapy and how I can support you in moving forward.

This session is structured to set the foundation for our work together. It’s a chance for us to establish a collaborative relationship where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable.
