About me and my therapy practice
I’m Jade, an integrative counsellor based in Sandwell & Birmingham.
My approach is integrative, drawing from various therapeutic modalities such as Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Pyschodynamic and Gestalt Therapy Theory.
This flexible framework allows me to tailor my sessions to meet the unique needs of each individual, fostering a deeper understanding of their experiences and facilitating personal growth.
I have experience working with a diverse range of clients and issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, and self-esteem concerns.
Understanding that every person’s journey is unique, I prioritise building a strong therapeutic alliance, which is essential for effective counselling.
I believe in empowering my clients by helping them explore their thoughts and feelings, gain insight into their behaviours, and develop coping strategies to manage their challenges
At the moment, I am currently only offering telephone/virtual therapy sessions (Not in person).
Practice description
I have a deep commitment to providing a safe and supportive space, I work collaboratively with clients to navigate life's challenges and enhance their emotional well-being.My first session
Our first session is an important opportunity to establish a foundation for our work together.
The telephone call will be 30 minutes and free of charge.
- We’ll start with some introductions. I’ll share a bit about my background and approach, and I encourage you to share your name and any preferred pronouns.
Understanding Your Needs
- I’ll ask you what brought you to counselling and what you hope to achieve. This is your opportunity to express your concerns, goals, and any specific issues you're facing. I may ask questions to gain a clearer understanding of your situation, including your background, current stressors, and any previous experiences with counselling.
Assessment
- I may use some assessment tools or questionnaires to better understand your mental health, coping strategies, and overall well-being. We may explore your history, including significant life events, relationships, and any mental health concerns.
Setting Goals
- Together, we’ll begin to identify your goals for counselling. This may involve discussing what the outcome of our sessions looks like for you and how we can work towards those aims.
I’ll explain how the counselling process typically works, including the structure of sessions, frequency, and what methods or techniques we might use.
Questions and Concerns
- You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions or voice any concerns you might have about our work together.
Reflection
- After our session, take some time to reflect on your feelings about the experience. It’s important that you feel comfortable and safe as we begin this journey together.
Remember, the first session is just the beginning. It’s normal to feel a range of emotions, and it’s perfectly okay to take your time to open up. My goal is to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings.
