Availability

I currently have availability to see clients in-person and online on Wednesdays and Thursdays primarily during the daytime with some late afternoon and evening availability. As of November I will have availability to see clients on Tuesdays as well.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an Integrative Therapist, which means that I weave together various therapeutic modalities. I do not believe in a ‘one-size-fits-all’ model because each person is individual and unique, and my intention is to tailor the therapeutic experience to your specific needs, hopes, and concerns. I predominantly integrate aspects of Humanistic, Existential, and Psychodynamic therapeutic working, and I hold at the centre of my work the importance of the interpersonal and relational. By exploring how our sense of self and others is formed from an early age, we can better understand how this informs the ways in which we relate with ourselves and others in the here-and-now.

There is no pressure for you to know with clarity what your exact reasons or hopes for coming to therapy are. You might just be wanting a space to talk about your thoughts and feelings to someone without judgement, or make sense of what you’re experiencing to someone who will listen. Through rapport and trust, my main aim will be to provide you with a safe, warm, and empathetic space where you can bring yourself as you are and explore any issues you are struggling with. This may include specific anxieties or fears, certain beliefs, attitudes, or behaviours that you feel are not helpful, or past events and experiences that you feel are keeping you stuck and hurting. I view the past, present and future holistically and value the importance of exploring how they contribute to each other in their own right. Ultimately, my intention is to facilitate your journey towards a deeper exploration and understanding of self through curiosity, authenticity, and open-mindedness. The therapy I offer is culturally informed, inclusive, and accepting of the diversity that is the human experience. As human beings we exist across multiple cultural, social, biological, and political contexts, so I feel it is important to acknowledge the impact of wider systems on our sense of being and explore these contexts in therapy.

Practice description

I currently offer both long-term and short-term online and in-person therapy. I generally offer short-term therapy over 16 sessions and long-term therapy over a year, however there is always scope to extend our therapeutic work together if need be. Depending on whether we will be working together on a short-term or long-term basis, we will loosely map out what you would like to explore in therapy and schedule a review half-way through our agreed working timeline so that we can ensure that the therapy is meeting your needs and explore what may come next.

I charge £65 for a 50-minute session of therapy and payment is taken monthly in advance. I do also offer concessionary rates based on circumstance.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute telephone conversation before we meet to briefly discuss what you're looking for and to let you know a little bit more about how I work so we can decide if we will proceed. We will then schedule our first session together and I will send you our therapeutic contract by email for you to read through and sign. In our first session, we will go through the signed therapeutic contract together and then explore your reasons or hopes for coming to therapy and any needs or concerns you may have. We will also loosely map out our therapeutic journey together based on what works best for you.
