About me and my therapy practice

How I work

Audre Lorde’s statement that “we don’t live single-issue lives” is no clearer than when in the therapy room. As such, I aim to recognise your world as a complex web of social, cultural and political factors where problems in living can emerge that may be causing you to feel disconnected from yourself and others. I also hold in mind that pain may be historical and generational.

A collaborative therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my approach and I endeavour to see you as a co-pilot who brings with you rich sources of knowledge and lived experience as we explore the landscape of your life.

As a pluralist I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach so I pull from various pools of knowledge and creative practices, and adapt them to what you need at that moment in time.

A little bit about me

I am a trained Pluralistic Therapist (MBACP) with an extensive background in migrant justice organising. I have experience providing face-to-face and remote counselling to adults, as well as short-term telephone counselling for people seeking asylum and human rights protections in Scotland.

Outside of this I deliver community engagement projects and facilitate community care sessions for organisations and collectives. I also participate in the 'Therapists for Liberation' peer support network in Glasgow that I established in 2024.

Practice description

My practice is guided by intersectional, anti-oppressive and liberation psychology principles which, simply put, means that I consider how power and inequality can show up in our lives and in our relationships. It is therefore important for me to create a safe holding space where together we can identify, unpack and address the factors that may be negatively impacting your mental health.

My first session

I offer a free 20 minute consultation to assess whether we are a good fit for one another. In this session, I will ask you some questions to get a better sense of your counselling needs and you will also have an opportunity to ask me any questions about myself and my practice.
