What is Integrative Counselling?
Integrative counselling is a flexible, personalized approach to therapy that combines techniques from different therapeutic models to best suit the individual needs of each client. Rather than following just one method, an integrative counsellor draws from a range of psychological theories—such as person-centred, cognitive-behavioural (CBT), psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based approaches—to create a holistic and tailored plan for healing and personal growth.
At its core, integrative counselling respects that each person is unique, and no single approach works for everyone. This type of therapy considers your emotional, mental, physical, and relational needs, helping you explore past experiences, current challenges, and future goals.
I am a Integrative counsellor, this means I can adapt to your needs to help you on your journey, I will provide a safe space for you to explore you thoughts and feelings, whether you want face to face or online counselling, I will walk along side you, supporting you.
It can be very daunting reaching out and asking for help, but sometimes making that step can be the start of self-growth, it is also the crucial first step that will ultimately help you to transform both your personal life and relationships.
Practice description
I offer a one to one therapy sessions, on a weekly and fortnightly basis, The sessions are 50 minutes long. I am very flexiable in how we use these sessions, we can go for a walk and talk, as I know not everyone can just sit in a chair and talk, we can express our feelings in different ways for instance through some artwork, or if your feeling stuck or unsure how you are feeling we can use emotion cards to help you.
My first session
We can have an intial meeting of 20 mins which is free, this can be either face to face, over the phone or online.
Once you have made a decision to see me, we can then book a 50 minute session, This will be a liitle different, as we will work together to talk about our contract, an also what you want to achieve from couselling.
