I am opening a new practice space in Tunbridge Wells in January and will be offering in-person work on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
About me and my therapy practice
People often seek counselling when they are struggling to overcome something on their own. I try to be someone who can listen and gently support you to find your way through it. I may not have all the answers (as if anyone does?) but my intention as a Counsellor is to support you to reconnect with the parts of you, which, when revealed can open new doors to healing, growth, and personal development. Although many people on some level are seeking change in therapy, my aim is to support you to become more at peace with who you already are.
I am happy to offer a free initial chat to explore what your needs are from counselling, and answer any questions you may have. I look forward to meeting you.
Practice description
I shape my practice in a way to best meet your needs. Often, this takes the shape of a conversation, sometimes light - sometimes deep, depending on what is present. At other times, it can be helpful to work with the breath, and or grounding and meditation exercises to root ourselves in the body. Equally, we can use a variety of resources (depending on whether work is online or in person) to help connect to the imagination, images, and symbols. Ultimately the sessions are for you, the client, and I will be guided by what feels appropriate to best meet your needs.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other, and for me to gather an overview of what has led you to this point in your life. If you have an idea of what you hope to achieve through counselling, this can be expressed... however it's also okay not to know what you want at this stage. In any case, it is a start. If it feels right for us both, I usually suggest that we agree to an initial six sessions to really get a feel for how working together will be.
