About me and my therapy practice
A warm welcome to my profile. I'm Marta, a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based in Saltaire, West Yorkshire. I offer in-person and remote sessions, online and via telephone.
My professional background is in the social housing sector, where I've developed a deep understanding of the environmental factors that impact our wellbeing. I’ve witnessed first-hand how every day circumstances can profoundly affect mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.
Within the last years, I've worked with victims and survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence offering trauma-informed support to survivors.
I work with clients who feel stuck in repeating patterns, facing lasting anxiety, low self-worth, emotional disconnection and challenges in modern relationships and dating, like being ghosted.
I offer support to those who have gone through domestic abuse and sexual violence, using a trauma-informed approach. I have a lot of expertise helping clients deal with grief and deep loss, whether it’s from a breakup, losing a family connection, changes in their sense of self, losing a job, or dealing with long-term illness.
I help clients understand their experiences and figure out the reasons behind their relationship patterns, so they can build healthier connections. I also support clients dealing with a variety of challenges, such as anxiety, stress, low mood, low self-esteem, depression, trauma, women's issues, and questions around identity and sexuality.
I’m bilingual offering therapy sessions in English and Polish.
I hold a degree in Counselling and Psychology and progressed to a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am currently in the process of obtaining an Masters in Integrative Counselling. I am a qualified and trained Independent Domestic Violence Adviser (IDVA) and a Restorative Justice and mediation Practitioner.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
