About me and my therapy practice

My aim is to provide a confidential, empathetic, safe and non-judgemental space to allow us to develop a trusting relationship where life challenges can be explored. My hope is that by providing a space, we can gain a deeper insight into what is impacting you, find ways of healing and moving forward. In sessions, I do not tell you what decisions you should make but I will provide a safe space from which exploration and empowerment becomes possible.

As an integrative counsellor, I can incorporate a range of approaches such as psychodynamic, humanistic, transpersonal, solution-focused and existential to meet your needs.

Some of the issues I have experience working with include anxiety, depression, stress, anger, self-esteem, inner critic, work issues, loss, trauma, childhood wounds, relationships, domestic abuse, life transitions, racial trauma, cultural, neurodiversity, family problems, estrangement, amongst, other challenges. Should you be unable to see the issue you need support with, I am happy to further explore what is happening for you and see how I can support.

I have experience working with people from a range of cultural backgrounds and ensure that therapy is LGBTQIA+ affirmative. Also, I have professional experience working within the voluntary, NHS, gender based violence, private mental health, education, and child and adolescent mental health sectors. Furthermore, I have a keen interest in engaging in research that has a focus on contributing to improving outcomes for people. Some of my particular areas of interest are gender based violence, intersectionality, complex trauma, racial trauma, neurodiversity, minority experiences and health inequalities.

I recognise that contacting an appropriate therapist can be a daunting task. Therefore, I am open to receiving any questions you might have and if you feel I could be the right therapist for you, arranging a first meeting so that we can get a sense of how we might be able to best support you.

Practice description

I am offering sessions online, telephone and face-to-face in South Croydon.

For clients who are seeking sessions face-to-face, my practice is about a 10 minutes walk from Purley Oaks Station.

My first session

Free 15-Minute Consultation Call:

I offer a free 15 minutes confidential call to understand what difficulties you are facing and why you are seeking therapy. There is no obligation to move forward, just a confidential chat about what you want to achieve in therapy. Please note this is not a therapy session but an opportunity to see if we are a good fit for each other.

Assessment Session:

If you decide to move forward after the 15 minute phone call, we can book a 50 minutes assessment session. This will give us the opportunity to further discuss what brings you to therapy, your background, current circumstances and review the therapeutic contract. This session will be slightly different than a normal therapy session because I will be talking more than usual and going through some admin with you.

Sessions:

Should you wish to move forward with therapy after our assessment session, our sessions will take place at the same time and usually on a weekly basis over the timeframe we have agreed.
