About me and my therapy practice
I appreciate that choosing a therapist can feel overwhelming and also like taking a massive leap into the unknown. I hope the information here will help to give you a sense of who I am and how I work and help give you the confidence to reach out. The therapeutic space can offer you the opportunity to better understand yourself as well as a chance to talk about topics and feelings that perhaps you can't discuss with family and friends. Through greater awareness of what is happening in our life’s and in our inner worlds we can make more empowered decisions, move through challenges and unlock more of our true potential.
My focus is on how to help people realise their full potential and actualise themselves in the world, as well as how to address issues of identity, purpose, meaning, values and negotiate crisis in whatever form it appears in people’s lives.
Along with being a Psychosynthesis trained therapist, I am also a registered nurse with a background in palliative care. I feel that my experience enables me to effectively support people who are experiencing issues with illness, end of life, bereavement, loss and grief. I also offer support in helping people to integrate material from psychedelic experiences.
If you decide to work with me it will be like setting out on a journey together. On that journey I’ll be your fellow traveller, companion and guide. If this resonates with you then please get in touch. I offer a free initial consultation over the phone as a way to find out if we could work well together.
Practice description
Sessions are 50 minutes and ideally we aim to keep the same time slot each week. If working online then I can offer a little more flexibility around timings.
Psychosynthesis therapy is a way of looking at our behaviour, our personality, our psyche and our inner life, that leads us to better understand ourselves and to develop an art of living. It helps us to become more true to ourselves by its insight into the dynamics of the personality and of how we act in the world.
My approach is tailored to suit the needs of each individual. I strive to support you to feel warmly welcome and safe to explore what you need to at your own pace in order to cultivate the self-awareness needed for lasting change.
Methods I use include talking and I may also use methods such as breathwork, meditation, drawing, journaling.
My first session
The first session is an assessment to see what you want in your life and what changes you would like to see as a result of therapy.
There is no obligation to continue after the first session. If you do decide to continue I recommend to start with a block of 6 sessions. This gives an opportunity to be able to explore material in more depth as well as to develop the therapeutic relationship.
The number of sessions we have together will normally depend on what you want to achieve. Short term is normally 6-12 sessions, longer-term open-ended counselling will incorporate regular reviews to ensure that your needs are being met.
Types of therapy
Animal assisted therapy, Brief therapy, Integrative, Person centred, Psychosynthesis
Clients I work with
Adults, Groups, Older adults, Organisations
How I deliver therapy
Long term sessions, Long-term face-to-face work, Online therapy, Outdoor therapy, Short term sessions, Short-term face-to-face work
