About me and my therapy practice
Having personally experienced the support talking therapy can provide, I offer clients a confidential space where they can feel safe enough to share their story without fear of judgement . Sometimes the issues we face are obvious but not always. Where do you start when you are unsure of why you feel the way you do? Taking the first step towards understanding can be a difficult one, you may feel unsure of what to expect. Trained in psychodynamic therapy, I work alongside you and have no expectations of what or who you need to be, only complete acceptance of who you are and what you bring to therapy. I welcome the opportunity to work with you on specific issues , through short term work or on an open ended basis.
Practice description
Working through the most sensitive of subjects requires a level of trust so feeling connected and accepted is important. With this in mind I offer a free telephone session where we can discuss what's going on for you. After this , if you feel that I may be the sort of person you could talk to, I offer a 1 hour introductory session in person or online , depending on which mode of therapy you would like.
During this session I will ask you about your background, family history, current life and what brings you to therapy. My aim is to think about if I can be useful to you in whatever it is you want to achieve. Equally important is how you feel , am I the right therapist for you?
If at this stage you wish to proceed we can schedule weekly sessions at an agreed time.
Sessions can be offered on a short term basis, or open ended and can be reviewed regularly.
My first session
The first session is 60 mins and charged at £70. It is a more structured session aimed at gaining knowledge of your background and family history and the issues that bring you to therapy.
Going forward, weekly sessions are 50 mins charged at £60.
Some concessionary rates are available. This can be discussed and agreed in the first session.
