About me and my therapy practice

“ Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack, a crack, in everything. That's how the light gets in.” Leonard Cohen

As an integrative therapist who practises relationally, I believe the quality of our relationships, both past and present has a huge affect on our sense of self, our self-worth and our ability to manage powerful emotions and moods.   I have experience in working with clients who have experienced childhood trauma and damaging relationships and can help you to reflect on harmful  behaviour patterns,  to let go of unhelpful coping mechanisms and make better choices, and to consider what has happened to you rather than what is wrong with you.

Seeking therapy can feel like an overwhelming juncture,  you are probably feeling anxious, overwhelmed or a bit low. There are any number of reasons my clients come to therapy, perhaps you are facing relationship issues; are coming up against one of life’s major stages; you may be suffering  loneliness or a lack of purpose; you may be confused about neuro-diversity; or maybe you are finding it hard to balance your work and family life. Perhaps you don’t really know what’s going on but just need someone to talk things through with.

Many of us are left feeling that there is something wrong with us and feel we should be able to manage problems in living on our own so I’m here to offer you an uncritical, non-judgemental and impartial relationship to process whatever is going on for you in an empathetic way.

As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of modalities depending on your needs and situation this includes considering how past experiences or relationship patterns are affecting you in the present; existential themes of living that all humans deal with, drawing on useful CBT techniques where appropriate. Therapy with me is collaborative and relational; the quality of our relationships impacts or wellbeing enormously, and I bring awareness to what is going on in the relationship between us into our therapy.

Practice description

I offer one-to-one therapy for adults, in 50-minute sessions, face-to-face in N/E London or online.

Therapy can be open ended, or we can agree to a fixed shorter term.

I advise scheduling a free 25-minute phone / video call to discuss what brings you the therapy, our suitability for working together, any questions you have of me, as well as availability/scheduling.

My Training and Background

I am a fully qualified therapist with an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regent’s University, and a BA in Philosophy and Italian from Leeds University.

I’ve practiced for 1.5 years at Middlesex University’s counselling and psychotherapy service for students, and with HQ Therapy’s low-cost service for 2 years.

I formerly worked in the TV industry as talent/literary Agent, I have a particular interest in helping people who work both in front of and behind camera, as well as with people coping with the combined pressures of family / work and everything in the middle.

I am DBS checked and a registered member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP 408186) and adhere to the BACP’s ethical framework.

My first session

Our first session is an assessment session for us both to discover if we are a suitable fit to work together.

I will ask you a number of questions including what brings you to therapy, your work, family and mental health background, your past experiences and/or expectations of therapy.

I am open to listening to any doubts or concerns you may have, or answering any questions you have of me, including my training, modality, suitability and so on.
