Availability
I am available daytimes and evenings. I offer Face to face in-person therapy as well as online.
I’m a counselling psychotherapist specialising in working with high-functioning anxiety. This includes low self-esteem, people-pleasing, perfectionism, rumination/overthinking, difficulty establishing boundaries, and burnout.
Perhaps you're here following a specific crisis or because navigating recent changes has felt overwhelming. Maybe it seems like you’re on a hamster wheel that you can’t get off. You may not know what it is you’re feeling, (other than a constant sense of panic, exhaustion, dread or overwhelm!)
It can be such a scary step to even think about starting therapy. But if your inner feelings are negatively affecting your life, relationships, work etc, you don’t have to carry on like this alone - I can help you to explore what is going on. I will offer you a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to share your authentic self and explore ways of jumping off that hamster wheel
I invite you to schedule a complementary session of up to 30 minutes with me.
About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome, my name is Snowden.
Each person is utterly unique so I put you at the centre of all our work.
I truly value making deep human connections – my work is guided by compassion, humour, empathy and realness. I commit to showing up to our sessions fully, with honesty and respect for all that you are and for the material you bring. This helps us to build an authentic working relationship that is specific to your needs. I have worked with a very wide experience of diverse and multi-ethnic clientele. I honour and celebrate difference and am committed to working affirmatively and anti-oppressively
Some of the issues I’ve worked with include depression, anxiety, loss/bereavement, loneliness, cultural expectations, burnout, stress, discrimination, grief, relationship/family issues, boarding school syndrome, sexual identity, midlife, menopause, masking, perfectionism, overthinking, low self-esteem, people-pleasing, anger.
I'm neurodivergent and specialise in working with neurodivergent clients, (with or without 'official' diagnosis) or those who may secretly feel they are ‘different’ from others in some fundamental way. I have undertaken additional training to supplement my work with my ND clients.
I also have a special interest in clients who work creatively, having worked therapeutically (and previously as a mentor) with artists, designer-makers, actors, dancers, musicians, people working in theatre/film/tv etc with issues such as imposter syndrome, creative block, feelings of worthlessness.
Practice description
When therapy works it is because of the relationship we form together. You are at the centre of our collaborative journey. We’ll work in partnership to uncover new insights about your unique sense of self, exploring how past patterns may be impacting your present, and identifying the (sometimes hidden) resources within you to create growth and self-connection. This can help you to better understand and accept yourself, find solutions to challenges, and discover a sense of purpose and direction that aligns with who you truly are.
Our sessions are tailored to your unique needs and experiences, offering a space for open and honest communication. My approach is rooted in empathy, curiosity and respect, supporting you to feel comfortable exploring material and parts of yourself that may have felt unacceptable or were hidden previously (perhaps even from yourself!).
My first session
I offer a free, online or phone session of up to 30 minutes - because beginning therapy is a big step, and finding the right person for you is essential in order to feel safe to share your feelings.
This free exploratory session is an open invitation to connect, learn more about each other, and discuss what you’re seeking from therapy. It's a relaxed, pressure-free space to ask questions, explore my approach, and see if our partnership feels right for you.
