About me and my therapy practice
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and I understand that finding the right counsellor isn’t always easy. I truly believe that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of healing. My goal is to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel accepted, seen, and heard. Together, we will build trust and explore what makes you feel safe, regularly checking in on your journey. There’s no set limit on our sessions; we’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
As an integrative creative arts counsellor, I blend various methods, combining the arts with talking therapy. The creative process is a powerful tool for our well-being. Combining the arts with talking therapy allows us to dive deeper into our thoughts, emotions, feelings and patterns of behaviours as well as connecting our body and mind
Creative therapy provides a safe haven for self-expression, allowing you to share difficult thoughts and emotions. It helps release suppressed feelings, reduce stress, and foster self-awareness and is especially beneficial for processing trauma. For those who find it hard to express themselves verbally, the arts offer an additional way to explore feelings and emotions.
I have a special interest in working with people who are struggling with anxiety and trauma. I am also experienced in working with those who have experienced domestic abuse and addiction.
Along with counselling I am also an experienced teacher and although I do not currently offer 1:1 work with children in private practice, I am able to work with parents and adult siblings of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) pupils as well as with parents of pupils who are out of school due to exclusion, anxiety or EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance).
I offer a compassionate and supportive environment to all individuals.
Practice description
I currently work out of the Happy Body Project near Bedford. Set in beautiful countryside, the rooms are calming and inviting with all rooms being accessible and on the ground floor. https://www.happybodyproject.co.uk/expert/julie-laugere/
I also work out of a clinical practice in Olney, Buckinghamshire, where all the rooms are on the first floor and are brightly decorated and set up for creative art therapy.

My first session
I offer a free introductory 15 minute online session. Please check your spam if you are expecting a reply.
This is a chance for us to get to know one another and to see if I am the right therapist for you. It is also a chance for you to ask any questions and for me to find out a little about you. If you would like to extend the first session to a full session this is also possible.
If you are happy after our initial session then you are welcome to book any further sessions.
Sessions are 50 minutes and are held at the same time, in the same place every week. Alternate weeks are possible if this is more affordable or convenient for you.
I also offer online sessions.
