About me and my therapy practice
“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.” — Desmond Tutu.
Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to read my bio. My name is Louise, and I’m delighted to have you here. I understand how challenging it can be to seek support and prioritise your well-being. I recognise the courage it takes to take this step, especially when searching for the right therapist. With that in mind, I am dedicated to offering a safe, empathetic, and supportive environment for my clients.
I understand that counselling is a journey, and finding the right therapist is a crucial first step. To help you determine if I am the right fit for you, I offer a free 20-minute consultation. During this time, we can chat about your needs, discuss your goals, and explore how we might work together. This initial meeting is an opportunity for you to ask any questions and get a sense of my approach and style.
I believe in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship and am dedicated to supporting you on your path to healing and personal growth. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health challenges, I am here to listen and help you navigate your journey.
I look forward to the possibility of working with you and supporting you in achieving your goals.
Practice description
Welcome! I am Louise, a dedicated and compassionate counsellor specialising in person-centred and trauma-informed therapy. With a deep commitment to supporting individuals through their mental health challenges, I bring compassion and empathy to my practice.
In my current role, I work closely with individuals who have experienced trauma, providing a safe and non-judgmental space for healing and growth. My approach is rooted in the belief that every person has the innate capacity for self-healing and personal development. By fostering a supportive and empathetic environment, I empower my clients to explore their feelings, rebuild their sense of self, and navigate their journey towards improved mental health.
I hold a higher education certificate in psychology and a diploma in counselling. Additionally, I have recently completed the ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) course, equipping me with the skills to effectively intervene with individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts or plans.
I regularly partake in supervision as per the ethical guidelines laid out by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I am committed to improving my service and plan to continue learning through Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Currently, I am offering online sessions only, providing flexible and accessible support to my clients.
I am passionate about helping my clients regain control of their lives and find their inner strength. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, loss, grief, or the aftermath of trauma, I am here to walk alongside you, offering guidance and support every step of the way.
