About me and my therapy practice
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor offering face-to-face sessions from my office in Lancaster. I also offer telephone and secure online sessions should this feel a better fit.
I approach my work with the utmost compassion and sensitivity. My goal is to help you achieve greater self-awareness and emotional stability by offering a welcoming and supportive therapeutic environment. I work with a non-directive approach where the content of sessions is led by you at a pace that feels right for you. Sessions are held in a safe and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Being able to provide my clients with high levels of empathy, understanding, and respect is something I consider a privilege and ensures that a strong, trusting and safe relationship can be built.
Practice description
Before starting to work privately I worked at a local LGBTQIA+ charity where I had sessions with young adults struggling with issues around identity. I also have experience working with neurodiversity, especially ADHD and with addiction and worked at a residential addiction treatment centre where I provided counselling for adults in recovery.
I am a fully Registered member of the BACP and work within their ethical framework. I offer both short and long term work to individuals aged 18 and over. I hold a level 5 qualification in Person-centred Counselling and Psychotherapy.
My first session
If you are interested in working with me, please contact me via email and we can book in an initial call to discuss how this might work. I am happy to provide a free 20 minute online meeting or phone call for us to get to know each other, discuss any previous experiences of therapy and address any questions you may have about the process. This gives us time to consider if working together is right for us both before committing to a first session. Usually we would have weekly sessions to begin with and we will evaluate what is working on a regular basis and modify sessions to suit your needs.
