About me and my therapy practice
I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where clients can explore their unique experiences, understand more about who they are and how they connect with others, supporting them to achieve their personal therapy goals and lead a happier, more fulfilled life.
Calm, thoughtful and compassionate, my professional philosophy values equality, empowerment, knowledge and open-mindedness. We'll work collaboratively at a pace you're comfortable with and, for those clients who are interested, I'm happy to explain and discuss any concepts and ideas that arise during the course of the therapeutic relationship.
Professional and personable, I encourage open honest communication so that clients feel comfortable and confident bringing up any issues or concerns during our work together.
I work predominantly from a person-centred perspective, integrating other models and theories as appropriate to each client's unique requirements.
Practice description
A registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work in accordance with its Ethical Framework.
A qualified integrative counsellor, I work with a range of counselling theories and approaches (including person-centred, CBT and Transactional Analysis) which enables me to be flexible and adaptable to the issues and objectives of each person I work with.
I work with adults on a medium to long term basis across a broad spectrum of issues and challenges including anxiety and generalised depression, loss, self-esteem, work-based stress and relationship issues.
In person sessions are available in Poynton, the High Peak and Marple.
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute initial telephone consultation during which potential clients can ask any questions - or raise any concerns - they have about starting therapy.
Clients will also be asked to provide some relevant background information to ensure, as far as is possible, that we are a good fit to work together.
