About me and my therapy practice

Whatever feelings you are struggling with, I offer a confidential, comfortable, warm and safe space where you can bring all aspects of yourself, whether it be for example, feelings of anger, guilt, shame, overwhelm, worry or anxiety relating to something that is going on in your life/relationships. We work together to explore and try to make sense of how your issues are affecting you and your thoughts and feelings. This can lead to inner healing, more meaningful connections and acceptance. I will work with you as you are.

Practice description

I have a warm, welcoming, safe space from my practice at home located 2 minutes walk from Clock house station and Beckenham Spa. I am also easily accessible from Croydon tram being 10 minutes walk from Kent house and Beckenham Junction stations. I specialise in working with older people and clients living with the impact of cancer, dementia and/or long term health conditions and general mental health issues. Building a relationship where you feel safe enough to express thoughts and feelings without feeling judged is key to our work. This may happen over a few weeks or it may be longer term. I am very much guided by you and what your needs are at this particular time in your life.

With a background in the NHS as a registered nurse and in community primary care I have more than twenty years experience working with vulnerable individuals. I also work as a Counsellor for a cancer charity and am a volunteer Counsellor with ACT in Bromley.

My first session

Our first session or two are an assessment of your needs and to establish where you are with things. It is also a chance for you to decide if you would like further sessions or not and for us to see how we might work together and for us to ask questions. It can take time to build a trusting relationship and I will not rush you to make any decisions if you are not sure. Therapy takes place at your pace and you can talk about whatever you feel you want to at that time. Our initial session together and any ongoing sessions last for 50 minutes. I work in a flexible open ended way and we usually review every few weeks.
