About me and my therapy practice
As a dedicated therapist with a deep commitment to supporting diverse communities, I offer specialised counselling for both individuals and couples. My practice is grounded in providing a safe and empathetic space, particularly for LGBTQ+ clients and Cantonese-speaking (廣東話) individuals and couples.
Having personal experience as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and as an ethnic minority, I understand the complexities of navigating identity, relationships, and societal pressures. My approach is client-centred, integrating techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and narrative therapy to help clients explore their identities, manage minority stress, and strengthen their relationships.
For Cantonese-speaking clients, I provide culturally sensitive counselling, understanding the unique challenges faced by those balancing cultural expectations with personal identity and relationships. My goal is to support you in fostering resilience, enhancing self-acceptance, and building meaningful connections.
Whether you are an individual seeking to explore your identity or a couple looking to improve communication and deepen your relationship, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey. Together, we will create a therapeutic plan tailored to your needs, ensuring that you feel understood, supported, and empowered to live authentically.
I offer online sessions to maximise privacy protection and flexbility. Let’s take the first step towards your personal growth and healing journey together.
Practice description
At my practice, I focus on creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all clients, with a particular emphasis on LGBTQ+ individuals and couples, as well as Cantonese-speaking clients. I believe that every person deserves to be heard and understood in their unique context, and I am here to offer compassionate and informed counselling.
For LGBTQ+ clients, I provide a safe space to explore identity, manage minority stress, and strengthen relationships. My experience in working with this community allows me to offer tailored support that respects each individual's journey.
For Cantonese-speaking (廣東話心理輔導,心理治療) individuals and couples, I offer culturally sensitive counselling that acknowledges the complexities of balancing cultural expectations with personal identity and relationship dynamics. I provide therapy in both English and Cantonese, ensuring that language is never a barrier to accessing the support you need.
My approach is integrative, using a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and narrative therapy to address your specific needs. Whether you’re dealing with personal challenges, relationship issues, or identity exploration, I am here to help you navigate your path with empathy and expertise.
You can expect a professional yet warm approach in our sessions, with a focus on your unique needs and goals. Together, we’ll work towards building resilience, enhancing self-acceptance, and creating stronger, more fulfilling connections in your life. I offer both in-person and online sessions, making therapy accessible and convenient for you.
My first session
In our first session, my primary goal is to provide you with a safe and supportive space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. We will take the time to discuss your background, your current concerns, and what has brought you to therapy. This session is all about understanding your unique situation and starting to build a trusting therapeutic relationship.
Before the session, I ask all clients to complete a pre-therapy questionnaire. This helps me gain initial insights into your needs and allows us to make the most of our time together. During the session, we will also review the client contract and privacy policy, ensuring that you fully understand how our work together will proceed.
This is your opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the therapy process, my approach, or anything else that may be on your mind. Together, we will set initial goals for your therapy and discuss how we can work together to make meaningful changes in your life.
I encourage open communication and will ensure that you feel heard and respected throughout our sessions. Whether you are seeking support for individual challenges or working on relationship dynamics, we will collaboratively outline a plan that suits your needs.
The first session is charged at the standard rate unless an assessment is required or requested. After this initial meeting, you can decide if you would like to continue with regular sessions, which can be scheduled based on your availability and preferences.
This session is a crucial first step in building a trusting therapeutic relationship, and I am here to ensure you feel heard, respected, and supported every step of the way.
