About me and my therapy practice
My name is Jessica, I am a qualified level four integrative Psychotherapist, working face to face or remotely with clients. I work from a person centred perspective, incorporating other therapy styles such as CBT, psychodynamic and Gestalt.
My speciality is ADHD, and working with neurodiverse clients.
Practice description
My practice is non judgemental, and client led, supporting the client in being the expert of their own life and helping them reach their full potential. I approach all counselling sessions, in a transparent and honest way.
Something I try to highlight and incorporate in my practice is the need for a more modern approach to therapy. I am also trained in walk and talk therapy, online, on the phone, and email therapy. With busy lives sometimes having the time to travel to a therapist can be problematic. However this does not need to be the case. Online therapy can be incredibly supportive for clients. And this also allows me to have a much larger client base, working with people all over the UK.
I have found especially working with neurodiverse clients, that sitting in a room and having open dialogue is not always as easy. So walk and talk therapy is a great alternative, enabling us to take the therapy out of the room, into more suitable settings. For example therapy from the art gallery using the art work as inspiration for the topics. Taking a walk down the sea front, or any locations that a client feels would be a better setting for them to work from.
The aim of my practice is to ensure the client is working in a way that supports them, enables them to feel safe, and comfortable. For this reason I always offer Free 30 minute consultations, by video link to meet potential clients, before they sign up for any sessions. This allows you to meet me, decide if I am someone you feel you would be able to work with, and to ensure the topic you are bringing to the sessions is something I am confident that my training allows me to work with.
My first session
I offer free initial consultations, these are 30 minutes long and normally done via zoom. This allows the client the space to meet me, and see if the therapeutic relationship works well. It also gives us an opportunity to talk about what may be going on for the client and to ensure I am qualified to support their needs.
