About me and my therapy practice
My name is Han (they/them), and I am a counsellor trained in both psychodynamic and person-centred approaches. I often work psychodynamically, exploring the connection between the past and the present. Other times, work with clients stays more in the here and now, grappling with confusing, painful experiences, emerging or developed identities, and relationships. I specialise in issues facing the LGBTQ+ community (especially transgender clients) as well as complex trauma and dissociation.
Practice description
In the counselling room, I bring with me both my practical training and my personal experience. I look to you as the expert in your life, emotions and experiences, and I seek to make sense of emerging themes with you. From my own experience and my work with clients, I have come to find that we walk through life holding, collecting, dispelling stories about us and the world around us. Therapy can be a place where we explore these stories and have the opportunity to create new ones.
My first session
Before our first session, I will send over a Counselling Agreement and a Personal Questionnaire. I ask that you take a look at these documents, fill out and send back. Alternatively, we can discuss them together during that initial appointment.
