About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Yasmine Najib (she/her), an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist based in East London. I offer short- or long-term therapy for adults, either in person or online, with weekly 50-minute sessions.
I understand that starting therapy or returning after a break can feel daunting. Having personally experienced the therapeutic process, I appreciate the courage it takes to begin this journey. My aim is to provide a welcoming and safe space where you can bring whatever is on your mind. Therapy is a place for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, make sense of your experiences, and consider ways to move forward.
My practice is rooted in an integrative approach, combining elements of psychodynamic and person-centred therapies. We will explore how your past experiences and unconscious thoughts may be influencing your current feelings and behaviours, while ensuring that our sessions are guided by you. You are the expert in your own life, and my role is to support you as we work together toward your goals.
Practice description
I focus on the therapeutic relationship itself, believing that the connection between us can be a powerful tool for change. By building a trusting relationship, we can explore patterns and dynamics that may arise in other areas of your life. I provide a non-judgmental, supportive environment where you can express yourself freely and work through challenges at your own pace.
My areas of interest include relational issues, early attachment, anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, identity issues, confidence building, women’s issues, and work-related concerns. I’m also open to incorporating materials like photographs, journal entries, and art into our sessions, which can help access emotions and thoughts that might otherwise remain hidden.
With a background in communications and public relations, I bring a unique perspective to my work as a therapist. My experience in these fields has given me a deep appreciation for human connection and the importance of listening, empathy, and understanding. This may particularly resonate with clients who work in similar industries or those seeking a therapist who understands the pressures of a fast-paced work environment.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to its ethical framework, ensuring that I maintain high standards of professionalism and confidentiality. My MSc in Therapeutic Counselling from the University of Greenwich focused on integrating counselling theory with an awareness of cultural and contextual factors. This helps me support clients in considering how external influences might be affecting their internal world.
