About me and my therapy practice
At times, we can find ourselves feeling stuck, lacking direction, or missing a sense of purpose. Our relationship with ourselves may become strained, which can have a ripple effect on other areas of our lives.
Some of these concerns may stem from past trauma, while others may relate to the present feeling uninspired, lacking motivation for daily tasks. For some, uncertainty about the future brings hopelessness, fear, or confusion about where life is heading.
I believe therapy creates a space where we can explore these challenges together. Often, we internalise our struggles, adding pressure on ourselves and believing we are the problem. However, I believe that you are not the problem you are the solution. My role as a therapist is to help you broaden your perspective, recognise your inner strengths, and support you as you move forward on your journey.
Practice description
I don’t offer quick fixes or simply tell you what you might want to hear. My approach is rooted in the belief that discovery requires searching. One of my favourite books, The Alchemist, tells the story of a young boy who embarks on a quest for gold, only to discover, after years of struggle, that the treasure was under his pillow all along. I interpret this to mean that the answers we seek are already within us. For some, this might seem like a daunting or even impossible task but my job is to support you on that journey.
I have worked with a wide range of issues, which are detailed in my bio, but my focus is always on the person, not the problem. My approach is grounded in humanistic philosophy, meaning empathy and non-judgement are at the core of my practice. I understand that each individual is unique, and my aim is to attune to your personal vision and how you navigate the world.
I am also mindful of the broader social impacts on mental health, particularly how they affect everyday life whether in personal relationships, work, or simply the challenge of getting up in the morning.
As a registered member of the BACP, I adhere to their ethical framework, ensuring that counselling is both safe and centred around you. This is not only a professional commitment but a personal one, closely aligned with my values.
If you resonate with anything in my profile, I invite you to get in touch for a free initial consultation to explore how we might work together. If you're unsure or feel hesitant about anything you’ve read, I still encourage you to take up the consultation it may be an opportunity to explore any resistance you feel. And if we do not connect, I sincerely wish you the best in your continued journey. Like the story of The Alchemist reminds us, what we’re searching for is often much closer than we realise.
