About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am Simone.
If you are experiencing anxiety, navigating complex relationships, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I am here to support you in this part of your journey. By considering therapy, you already took a courageous step towards positive change.
I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, reflect on your relationships, and understand the experiences that shape your life.
I believe in the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship, and my approach centres on building a strong rapport based on openness, honesty, trust, and empathy. Together, we can create a warm and safe environment for your journey of self-discovery and healing.
Therapy can be a catalyst for change, whether it involves transforming how you perceive yourself, your life, or your relationships. We can explore past and present events together, developing and strengthening awareness of how experiences interconnect and influence each other. This process can help you feel more empowered, balanced, and fulfilled.
While this journey may present challenges, I'm here to help you embrace them. Let's uncover what enables you to thrive and grow. If you feel ready for change, I'm here to support you every step of the way.
Practice description
I trained to work integratively, which means I can draw upon different theories and approaches, such as person-centred theory (PCT), psychodynamic theory, and cognitive behavioural theory (CBT). My work is grounded in a compassionate, relationship-focused approach that actively challenges systemic inequities and recognises the profound ways personal identities and social contexts interact.
I have experience working with diverse age groups and cultures, and I support clients in their personal growth, addressing a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and low self-esteem.
I engage in ongoing professional development to enhance my skills and stay updated with best practices in counselling. This includes, but is not limited to, regular supervision, where I reflect on my practice and ensure that I provide the highest quality of care to my clients. Regular supervision, rigorous training, and ongoing research help me maintain objectivity, improve my skills, and uphold ethical standards.
Alongside my private practice, I work with NHS referrals in a charity where I provide free counselling to refugees and asylum seekers in their mother tongue. This humbling role, which often involves processing trauma, losses, and difficult life transitions, allows me to be attuned to diverse experiences and support individuals in finding confidence while navigating unique challenges.
As an integrative counsellor, artist, and author, I can offer you a professional and safe space for therapeutic self-expression.
I work within an anti-oppressive, collaborative process; together, we can explore the past or focus on the present whilst I support you in exploring your inner world. I will tailor our sessions and adapt our approach to fit and meet your needs. In this process, you will gain insights and discover what empowers you to cultivate a more fulfilling life.
My first session
If you are considering counselling, I invite you to book a free consultation to explore how I can support you.
Our initial meeting is an opportunity for you to discuss what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to achieve. It’s also a chance for you to experience my approach and determine together if I am the right counsellor for you.
There is no obligation to make your decision during our conversation. I encourage you to make an informed decision at your own pace and get back to me when you decide whether you would like to book a full session.
To book your free consultation or for more information, please visit my website, reach out via email, or call my number and leave a message in my inbox with your name and contact number, and I will return your call as soon as possible.
While I strive to respond to all enquiries generally within 24 hours on weekdays, please understand that it may take longer due to various factors such as personal circumstances or workload.
I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you on your journey.
