About me and my therapy practice
Finding the right therapy and the right therapist for you is an important decision. Maybe you've tried talking therapy or counselling before, maybe all the different qualifications and therapy jargon are confusing as hell, and you find yourself at a loss as to what it all means and how to make a choice? I hear you.
As an Integrative Psychotherapist and Mind Body Therapist I work with a variety of approaches to find the best way for you as the unique individual you are.
Mind Body Therapy combines talking therapy with a body based approach that encourages curiosity in understanding how our thoughts and feelings influence our behaviour, choices, our relationships, self-perception, and even how we breathe and move. And more importantly how we work with this knowledge to grow in self-awareness and move forward to where we want to be.
Together we will explore approaches that work best for you. These might include traditional talk therapy, mindfulness, emotional regulation, meditation, breathing for stress relief, and we might even get creative if that works for you. Basically, it's all about you, and what works best for you.
I run a private practice and also work in NHS and private acute mental health services, supporting adults and young people as they recover from mental health conditions.
I can help you with anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, grief and recovery from eating disorders. I specialise in the management and recovery of chronic health conditions such as long covid, chronic fatigue and recovery from cancer. I work in a neuro-affirmative and trauma informed way.
Practice description
I provide a warm inviting space for you. A place that feels like a break from the outside world. Yes, it can be challenging at times - we might be working with some tough stuff, but at the heart of good therapy is a safe space where you feel comfortable to be you.
Sessions are typically 50-60 minutes and can be in person or online.
My first session
In our first session we will get to know each other and what brings you to therapy. During this initial consultation we will go through the therapy process, and how it can work in a way that supports you.
The initial consultation will provide you with information which you can then go away with and make an informed decision about whether this kind of therapy is right for you. We will assess your general health and wellbeing, and together we can discuss any questions and queries you may have about the support I provide.
