About me and my therapy practice
Hi and Welcome - I'm Iga,
I specialise in supporting clients with anxiety and experiencing burnout, as well as those struggling with intrusive thoughts and panic attacks.
I understand how very lonely and exhausting it is to feel anxious, stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we can feel guilty or ashamed about things that have happened (or are currently happening) to us that are difficult to talk about. The pain, confusion or anxiety can become overwhelming.
Talking therapy can make a real difference. When your feelings are truly heard, understood, and validated by someone else, it creates space for change. I’m here to listen and support you as you explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions, helping you uncover your own sense of empowerment and agency so that you can begin living the life you want.
I provide an inclusive, safe and supportive space to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and recognise how your past experiences may have shaped the way you think and feel today.
Together, we’ll work on building healthier coping mechanisms and more self-accepting ways of thinking and being, where you start to prioritise your own needs and trust your own judgment.
We will work on changing your relationship with anxiety, while also building a toolkit to help you support yourself during challenging times. This will help you regain control and remove anxiety from the driver’s seat.
Additional areas of expertise include:
- Low self-worth, people-pleasing
- Low mood, depression
- Perfectionism, overthinking and fear of making mistakes or failing
- Attachment issues
- Bereavement, grief & loss
- Shame
- Anger
- Perinatal and postnatal mental health
- Relationship issues
- Family issues
- Identity and belonging
- Life transitions (e.g: parenting, "midlife crisis", getting married/divorced, perimenopause and menopause, relocation/immigration, aging)
- Challenges related to mental health that arise from living with a chronic illness
Practice description
My approach
My approach focuses on establishing a meaningful and authentic relationship, I believe this is at the heart of the therapeutic process.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I blend elements of different modalities, such as Person-centred, Psychodynamic, IFS, Gestalt, Attachment theory but also Neuroscience, Mindfulness and Creative therapy.
I am passionate about the mind-body connection and how movement, nutrition, environment, breathwork and nature can impact our mental health (holistic approach).
I approach my work in a non-pathologising, neuro-affirmative and trauma-informed way, recognising how trauma can influence behaviour, emotions, and responses. My aim is to create a safe, supportive, and empowering space that promotes trust and healing.
Instead of viewing you through the lens of “what is wrong with you?” I focus on “what happened to you?” I understand that our behaviours are often shaped by what we have needed to do to keep ourselves safe, or to try to meet our needs in some way.
About me:
I have always been interested in the unseen and what drives our actions and behaviours. Growing up in different family models, moving countries and political systems gives me insight and knowledge of the intrinsic complexities of human existence and relationships.
I worked in the creative business sector before pursuing my counselling path, and I continue to be active in a variety of creative initiatives both in the UK and abroad.
I have a deep interest in how culture, language, and identity intersect and influence our view of the world. I welcome people from many different backgrounds, cultures and different relational styles.
I am fluent in both English and Polish and can provide therapy in either language.
