About me and my therapy practice
Therapy should be a place where you feel safe and comfortable to explore things at your own pace and in your own way, and I aim to provide this environment in my practice. It is important to me that my practice is welcoming to marginalised identities including global majority, LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse individuals. I strive to work in an anti-racist and anti-colonial way, and consider myself an intersectional feminist. I strongly oppose conversion therapy and am part of a network of TNBI+ affirmative therapists.
Although I was originally trained in the psychodynamic approach, I weave in a variety of techniques depending on the needs of the client. Issues such as trauma, neurodivergence, marginalised identity and cultural oppression can all affect the way individuals can engage with therapy, so I try to take this into consideration in my practice.
Aside from my training in psychotherapy and counselling, I have many years of experience working in mental health at a national charity, as well as in the wellbeing support team at a university. I engage in regular supervision and rigorous professional development, as well as ongoing training in areas of specialist interest.
