About me and my therapy practice
You may have a specific reason for considering counselling, or you may have a sense that things do not feel right without being able to articulate why.
Making the decision to start counselling can bring many emotions including fear, excitement, anxiety, relief and this is completely normal.
By looking at events and relationships from the past, we can begin to understand why we think, feel and behave the way we do in the present. This can allow us to understand ourselves better, how we relate to the world and those around us.
Exploring yourself in this way can help us work through some of the confusion together. The process which can be a difficult one can help with anxiety and depression.
Practice description
The way I work is to create a confidential, compassionate and non-judgemental environment where we can explore your inner world together and think about how your difficulties may be made sense of and understood. My role is not to impose my opinions on you but to enable you to clear some of the confusion and think with you about the things that bring you to therapy.
My first session
An initial consultation gives us a chance to meet and discuss what you want from the therapy. It gives us both the opportunity to see if we would be a good fit before we begin working together. I offer a free 5-minute phone call to help you decide if you would like to have an initial consultation with me.
