About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Rhys, a humanistic counsellor dedicated to supporting you as you navigate the challenges in your life, helping you reconnect with your strengths, and empowering you to find your own path to healing and growth.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or struggling with the weight of past experiences, I provide a compassionate and non-judgmental space where you can explore these challenges at your own pace. Working together, we will work to uncover the root causes of your concerns, helping you gain clarity, build resilience, and explore strategies for change. My goal is to support you in feeling more empowered, connected, and able to move forward with greater confidence and peace of mind in your everyday life.

Practice description

In our sessions, I offer warmth, non-judgment, and compassion in a safe and confidential environment, where you decide the pace and depth of our discussions. I aim to come alongside you on your journey, ensuring you feel truly heard and understood. Our time together is a collaborative process, offering you the opportunity to explore the actions or ways of thinking that may no longer serve you.

Having a background in the arts enriches my counseling practice by offering a unique perspective on human experience and expression. The creative process is deeply intertwined with emotional expression and self-discovery, and draws on skills like empathy, active listening, and an appreciation for diverse perspectives—all of which are essential in therapy. This experience helps me understand and connect with clients who have creative or unconventional ways of viewing the world. It also enables me to appreciate the nuanced and complex emotions clients may bring to sessions, and to support them in exploring their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors with openness and curiosity.

Reaching out for help can be daunting. The idea of opening up to a stranger might feel overwhelming. Yet, speaking with a counsellor can be incredibly beneficial. Together, we can build an understanding of why you feel the way you do, explore your reactions to particular situations, and identify choices that empower you to move forward.

My first session

The first session is £30 and acts as both an initial assessment and an opportunity for you to decide whether I am the right fit you you and your needs. I will ask a few questions about what has led you seek to out therapy, what you hope to get from our time together and how best I might support you. My hope is that you feel heard, understood and that you feel safe and comfortable enough to explore the issues that have brought you to therapy.
