About me and my therapy practice
Hello and thank you for visiting my profile. I am a fully qualified Integrative Relational Counsellor committed to supporting you through whatever challenges, concerns or difficult feelings you may currently be facing. The relationship that we build will form the foundation of our work and together, we can create a collaborative space where you feel heard and understood.
I believe counselling provides an opportunity for you to reconnect with who you really are, fostering greater confidence, resilience and self-awareness. My approach is integrative, meaning I tailor our work to your unique needs by drawing from different but complementary therapeutic models. This allows us to explore the behaviours and patterns that may be holding you back and find new ways of relating to yourself and others.
Training, qualifications and experience
• BA (Hons) Integrative Relational Counselling – Middlesex University (BACP accredited course)
• Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling
• Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) – adhering to their ethical framework
• Ongoing professional development to stay informed on the latest research and advancements in counselling and mental health
I currently work in private practice and with a low-cost counselling service for women. I also have experience providing counselling within the NHS in a GP setting.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 15 years working in the public sector which helped me to gain an understanding of the unique pressures faced by those in healthcare, social care, and the NHS.
Practice description
I work with warmth, empathy and curiosity, offering a non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I will support you with compassion in processing painful or difficult experiences which can be both transformative and healing. I believe that how we have learnt to relate to others and ourselves can impact us in many ways, causing us to repeat unhealthy patterns or become ‘stuck.’ Through our work together I hope to enable you to develop the tools and insights needed to make choices that feel right for you.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation where we can discuss if I’m a good fit for you. I can tell you a bit more about how I work, and answer any questions you might have. You don’t need to share too much, I might just ask some questions about the support you’re seeking. If you decide you’d like us to work together, we will then arrange the first session.
Sessions are always 50 minutes long. If we are working online I will provide a link ahead of time. During the first session, we will explore your thoughts and feelings about therapy, discuss your expectations and goals, and address any questions you may have.
Before the first session, I will send you my client contract which we will review together when we first meet.
