About me and my therapy practice
You may be struggling right now facing something that impacts you day to day or may feel unheard or need to express feelings you've kept inside? You may want to explore why you get stuck in unhelpful patterns. Therapy can help; you don’t have to do it all alone.
Hi and welcome! My name is Maria.
I am a qualified BACP counsellor. I offer attention, patience, and space to help you work out what is really going on. Working together we can explore your truth. I will listen non-judgmentally with compassion and empathy as we explore your story, thoughts, and feelings. This will be done at your pace.
I don’t guide or advise, but I do help support you in finding clarity. Together, we can explore your processes and gain a greater awareness of how these may be impacting you. This may help you identify your choices, recognise new possibilities, kickstart change, and uncover your resilience.
People come to counselling for a range of issues. Issues and experiences will impact each of us differently, so I work in a tailored way for you - aimed toward your way of working and desired outcome.

Initial Contact
When you reach out, we’ll typically start with a brief phone call. This conversation helps us understand your reasons for seeking therapy and determine if we’re a good fit to work together, and help you decide the right way forward for you.
Therapeutic Approach
I prioritise building an empathic therapeutic relationship, fostering your autonomy throughout the process. Together, we’ll discuss how you’d like your sessions tailored and identify your goals for therapy. Along with this person-centred approach, we may also in sessions look to see how the past can influence the present. Often, clients want to explore who they are and discover how their childhood has shaped who they are now; I welcome this psychodynamic exploratory work and see how beneficial that can be.
