About me and my therapy practice
Hello.
I trained in Psychosynthesis: an integrative, humanistic approach based on psychoanalysis that explores human nature holistically: mind, body, and feelings.
I work creatively, adapting my approach to individual needs, exploring what is current, historical, and unknown to help make sense of complexity, uncertainty, vulnerability and the chaos of life.
I have over thirty years’ experience working across the voluntary, statutory, and commercial sectors, exploring broad therapeutic themes, and specialist areas of interest; change - cultural and behavioural, identity and sexuality, trauma, grief and loss.
I am a registered member of BACP, and adhere to their code of ethics.
Practice description
At certain times in life we can feel stuck, lost, and uncertain, as if we are on autopilot and not truly connected to ourselves, our partner, our family, or our friends. This can be frustrating and isolating, making it hard to see a way forward.
My belief is human nature is ever-evolving, shaped by our past, present, and future aspirations, and how we evolve can feel confusing and uncertain.
I offer an environment to explore where you are in life and how you'd like to move forward. I work relationally, integrating different modalities and adapting my approach dependent on individual needs.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity to explore why therapy now, and importantly, to get to know each other better and see if there is a good fit as client and therapist.
Before the first session I offer a free 15 minute call to discuss your needs, and answer any initial questions you may have.
I charge my usual rate for the first session, for 50 minutes. If both parties agree to move ahead, I will share a contract that outlines the terms we've agreed, including practicalities of working together and my commitment to therapeutic boundaries and ethical practice.
