About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Ulrike but everyone knows me as Ulli. I am a qualified counsellor with a base in person-centred therapy and integrative counselling. Counselling that responds to your situation and needs can benefit anyone looking for a more balanced and optimistic future. I draw from a variety of psychological models to meet each client's unique needs. Recognizing that everyone is different, I tailor my approach to suit you individually, offering a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your identity, needs, and potential.
Whether you're considering counselling for the first time or simply exploring the idea, I'm here to offer a safe, judgment-free space for you to delve into your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. There is power in being genuinely heard and understood, and I'm committed to walking with you as we navigate your journey together.
My own path to becoming a counsellor was inspired by personal experiences that highlighted the value of seeking support during challenging times. I understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes we need extra help to find our way.
I am registered with the BACP and adhere to their ethical framework.
Practice description
I provide both long- and short-term counselling for adults in a friendly, safe, and confidential environment. I provide a supportive space where you can make sense of difficult thoughts and feelings that may feel overwhelming when faced alone. Here, you can explore your emotions and better understand yourself and your history in order to affect positive change.
I assist clients in overcoming and managing stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, life changes, trauma, relationship difficulties at home or work, and low self-esteem. Whether in person or online, together we can reflect on your concerns and explore the changes you wish to make.
My practice is located in Ascot High Street where free 1hr street parking is available. Please note that my practice rooms are up a staircase and unfortunately not wheelchair friendly. Whilst there is a benefit to face to face sessions I can also offer online counselling to suit you.
Sessions are 50min and will be scheduled weekly at the same time so it is easy to plan. I can work with you on a short or long term basis to allow for your specific needs.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute introductory phone conversation for you to get a sense of my approach and ask any questions you may have. During this time, we can briefly discuss what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve, without any commitment. This allows you to consider whether we are a good fit for each other and if you'd like to proceed. I will provide you with my availability, and we can plan the next steps.
In our first full session, which will be 50 minutes like all subsequent sessions, we can delve deeper into your history and any specific issues you want to focus on, as well as discuss how we will work together.
