About me and my therapy practice
Everyone needs help from time to time and making the decision to start therapy can sometimes be hard and long thought through. I work to make you feel safe and held whilst exploring difficult feelings and thoughts in a confidential, non-judgemental environment.
Sometimes we believe that we should be able to deal with difficult issues on our own. Often this can be hard to do as the thoughts and feelings become tangled, rather like a ball of wool that’s difficult to unravel, and it’s hard to think objectively. Therapy helps to untangle these thoughts and feelings to bring about peace and calm.
Practice description
I provide one to one counselling sessions either face to face, online or by telephone to those 18 and over. I work in an integrative way using a combination of person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapies. Most of all, I’m led by you, what you want to bring to sessions and what works best for you. Always using a collaborative, individual approach to help you gain more understanding and perspective, finding inner resources to consider different ways of being and to be by your side through difficult times.
I have particular experience in working with stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, women’s issues, menopause, family problems, difficult childhood experiences, divorce, miscarriage, chronic illness, disability, grief and loss, work stress, court cases, industrial tribunals, carer responsibilities and low self-esteem.
My first session
If you would like some more information please contact me by email, we can then arrange a free 15 minute video or telephone call. Here we will talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, my approach and how we might work together. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions. From there, if you so decide, we can set up a regular day and time for our future sessions. This can be in person at The Kingston Women's Centre, Kingston or by video or phone call. Sessions can be weekly or fortnightly, a set number or open ended.
