About me and my therapy practice

I'm a dedicated, open-minded and compassionate counsellor with experience working within the NHS, private and charity sectors. As a humanistic integrative practitioner, I draw on different psychotherapeutic modalities and tailor my approach to best support individuals with a wide range of problems. I am fluent in English and Polish and offer therapy in both languages.

Regardless of what brings you to therapy: perhaps you're feeling low, demotivated or confused, maybe you suffer from anxiety, loss or trauma related issues, have a low self-esteem or experience challenges in your relationships, I am here to support you each step of the way with authentic care and understanding; helping you to forge a stronger connection with the vital and courageous part of you that longs for a richer, more satisfying, meaningful or joyful expression in different areas of your life.

I can also assist you in detangling yourself from the past experiences and influences, gaining a greater self-awareness and a sense of autonomy. Through the therapeutic process, you can begin to integrate different aspects of your personality and create a more positive narrative of who you are and what you would like to create in your life. This can be conceptualised as resolving past traumas and creating a more secure attachment style of relating.

Each therapeutic journey is unique and I continue to be in awe of the diversity of human experience. It's important to me that people I work with feel well received and understood, and in my practice I welcome individuals from all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ community, ethical non-monogamy, cultural and ethnic minorities. I also have an interest in and experience of working with neurodiversity, including ADHD and autism. I am sensitive to the issues of belonging and otherness, and the ways in which socio-economic structures and cultural context shape our lives. In my approach I aim to be inclusive, respectful and compassionately curious.

Practice description

Whilst my theoretical orientation draws on a variety of humanistic, psychodynamic and transpersonal traditions, I am first and foremost a relational therapist, grounded in the belief that the only person that can truly be an expert in your own experience is you. Therefore I see my role as a gentle facilitator of the therpeutic process, partnering you in the journey of self-discovery or helping you to navigate your current difficulties, providing a uniquely nurturing space in which you can feel empowered to reclaim your own inner knowing and become the person you were meant to be.

My areas of interest include the body-mind unity and how emotional difficulties or trauma can express itself through physical symptoms. In the latest psychotherapeutic thought there tends to be more emphasis placed on working with the somatic experience in the therapeutic room, and as a certified conscious dance facilitator, I bring unique understanding and experience in that area.

I believe therapy should be accessible to all so please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have and I will do my best to tailor my approach to fit your needs.
