About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Yuki Compston, and I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am committed to supporting individuals through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges.
My work is grounded in the values of empathy, empowerment, commitment, and integrity. I offer a safe, non-judgemental environment where you can explore any aspect of your life—whether you’re struggling with anxiety, grief, self-esteem, or relationship issues. My role is to walk alongside you as you navigate your journey towards healing and self-discovery.
My career began in the business world, and my experience living and working in different countries has shaped my sensitivity to diverse cultural and personal backgrounds. This journey allows me to bring a unique perspective to my practice—one that is both empathetic and open-minded. I ensure that your story is heard and valued, no matter your walk of life.
I also hold additional certificates in couple therapy, which allows me to offer specialist support for relationships.
Practice description
As a Relational Transactional Analysis (TA) counsellor, I am dedicated to helping you build a better relationship with yourself and others. I tailor my approach to your unique needs, using this therapeutic framework to uncover relational patterns that may be holding you back, fostering greater self-awareness and healthier connections.
You will always remain at the centre of the therapeutic process in our work together. I strive to create a supportive, nurturing space where you can explore your emotions, thoughts, and experiences at your own pace. Whether you are an individual or part of a couple, our sessions will be tailored to address issues such as:
Anxiety
Depression
Grief and loss
Relationship difficulties (with others or with yourself)
Low self-esteem
Work-related stress
Cultural and identity struggles
With my additional certification in couple therapy, I offer tailored support to help partners navigate communication, trust, and intimacy challenges, fostering healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
I offer counselling tailored to your specific circumstances, whether you seek short-term or longer-term support.
My first session
If you feel we would be a good fit, I invite you to get in touch. I offer an initial 30-minute video call free of charge, where I can answer any questions you may have and we can discuss what you’re looking for in therapy.
If you decide to move forward after our conversation, I will send you a contract for your review. We will typically arrange sessions once a week, and in our first full session, we will take the time to discuss your goals and establish a shared understanding of how we can work together effectively.
