About me and my therapy practice

Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I’m here to offer personalised support that truly considers your unique story and what you need from me.

With my background as a midwife in the NHS, I bring years of experience in women’s care, and I’m passionate about combining these skills with my work as a counsellor to provide the best possible care for you.

I specialise in helping those navigating the difficult experiences of sexual trauma, birth trauma, miscarriage, stillbirth, and menopause. I understand how deeply these events can impact your life, and I’m here to offer empathetic and professional support to help you through them.

As an integrative adult therapist, I use a variety of approaches tailored to your needs. If you're struggling with issues affecting your present-day life (also known as person-centred therapy), or with past or childhood experiences (psychodynamic therapy), I can work with you to address both.

My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore what’s weighing on you. I believe that you already hold the answers to your challenges within yourself, and I’m here to help you uncover them and move forward with confidence.

Practice description

I practice in a relational way which means that you can expect warmth, empathy and non judgement from me. Our therapy will be a safe and confidential space where you can find help to explore  your issues.

I will be a trustworthy and honest companion on your journey through the counselling process. I will not advise you or coach you but will be with you every step of the way as you navigate your issues in our therapy. My aim is to help provide some insights into what may be happening for you and to gently 'hold up a mirror' to the challenges you are facing. By doing this together we can take this at a pace which suits you and allows you to progress through difficulties with peace and acceptance.

My first session

I offer a free no obligation 20 minute phone call prior to arranging the first session. This is for you to bring any queries or concerns you have and for us to see how it may be to work together.

If we both feel that we would like to continue we can arrange an in person or online session.

Within our first session I aim for clients to gain an understanding of what they can expect from me. Whether you have had therapy before or this is a totally new experience we can explore your goals and how best I can support you. I use this opportunity to take a few details on you and what you feel is most important for me to know before our therapy starts.
