About me and my therapy practice
I offer a compassionate and holistic approach to counselling, grounded in Humanistic principles. As an integrative Humanistic counsellor, I believe in the inherent ability of every individual to grow, heal, and find fulfilment. My practice is based on the understanding that each person is unique, and therapy should be customised to fit your individual needs and experiences.
I draw from a range of therapeutic techniques, including Person-Centered, Gestalt, Expressive Arts, and Transactional Analysis, blending the insights of Humanistic psychology with practical, evidence-based approaches. This integrative method allows us to explore your concerns from various perspectives, fostering deeper self-awareness and facilitating personal transformation.
Together, we will create a safe and supportive environment where you can openly explore your thoughts and feelings. My aim is to help you connect with your inner resources, build resilience, and achieve meaningful change in your life. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or seeking personal growth, I am here to guide and support you on your journey.
As a member of the BACP, I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework to ensure a professional and ethical approach in all our work together.
Practice description
After an initial conversation which allows you to explore whether counselling would be of help to you, we would normally meet weekly for 50 minute sessions, reviewing the work after 6 weeks to see whether you are finding it helpful and decide whether to continue. For some clients, 6 weeks is enough to help with the issues they need to address, for others longer term work is appropriate. I offer both online, telephone and face-to-face meetings. Short and longer term therapy.
My first session
Our first session is a 30-minute introductory call where we’ll agree on the terms of our work together and discuss how I can support you. This is a chance for you to explore if therapy is right for you and if we are a good fit. I’ll also share how I work and answer any questions, while we complete some paperwork.
