Practice description
Sharing our stories of what has happened to us, rather than thinking there is something wrong with us, can be incredibly healing.
Together, we'll work at your pace to:
- Understand your emotions
- Unravel difficult experiences
- Make positive changes
I provide a warm, supportive space for you to explore your concerns and make sense of life's challenges. I use an integrative approach, drawing on different therapy styles like Person-Centered Therapy (PCT) to help you discover your own strengths and find solutions that work best for you. This might also involve exploring thoughts and feelings like in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or looking at past experiences that might be affecting the present (similar to Psychodynamic Therapy). Sometimes, focusing on the present moment and how you're experiencing things can be helpful, too (like in Gestalt therapy). Ultimately, I tailor our sessions to your unique needs and goals.
My first session
During our first counselling session together, we will explore what the focus of our work might be and get a sense of what meeting together feels like. This session is not just about me understanding you, but also about you gauging how comfortable and heard you feel with me as your counsellor.
I will listen to what has brought you to counselling and perform an assessment. Then together, we will establish what you would like to get from therapy, and I will work to your agenda.
My style is relaxed, informal, and friendly. Sessions are in confidence with no judgement.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Identity issues, Loss, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, OCD, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sensory impairment, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Substance Dependency, Trauma, Vegan allied, Women's issues, Work related issues
