About me and my therapy practice

Life can feel like a constant battle. Maybe you’re exhausted from trying to hold everything together, overwhelmed by past trauma, struggling with addiction, or just feeling like you’re never quite “enough.” You might not even know exactly what’s wrong—just that things aren’t working, and you don’t want to keep feeling this way. I get it. And you don’t have to figure it out alone.

I’m Louise, a down-to-earth, no-nonsense counsellor who truly understands what it’s like to carry heavy emotions. With 20 years of experience in emergency services and my own personal journey through trauma and recovery, I offer more than just a therapy session—I offer a space where you can finally breathe, speak your truth, and be heard without judgment.

I specialize in working with trauma, addiction, ADHD, anxiety, low self-esteem, and the deep-rooted struggles that affect relationships, work, and day-to-day life. My approach isn’t about just talking—I can also use various creative techniques like metaphor to help you process what words alone sometimes can’t. Whether we’re sitting with a coffee in my comfy therapy space, walking outdoors, or working through things online, my goal is to help you make sense of your past, regain control of your present, and move toward a future that feels lighter and more manageable.

Therapy with me isn’t about being told what to do—it’s about working together to find what works for you. If you’re ready to take that first step, let’s talk

Practice description

A Space That’s Truly Yours

Therapy doesn’t have to mean sitting in a stiff office under harsh lighting, feeling like you're being analysed. That’s not how I work. My practice is based on a private seven-acre smallholding in Brenchley, a space designed for you to feel comfortable, safe, and heard. Whether you prefer a cosy indoor session with a coffee, hot chocolate, a cold can of Coke Zero (or something stronger—like herbal tea!), with a biscuit or some chocolate, or you'd rather be outdoors, walking, talking, or just sitting in nature, we’ll find what works for you.

You won’t be expected to spill your deepest trauma every session unless that’s what you need. Therapy with me isn’t about reliving pain over and over—it’s about understanding, processing, and moving forward in a way that feels manageable. Some days, that might mean deep conversations. Other days, it might be about simply being in a space where you can just be without pressure.

I’m down-to-earth, straight-talking, and I truly get how hard life can feel. Whether you’re struggling with trauma, addiction, ADHD, low self-esteem, or just feeling lost, you don’t have to do it alone. This is your space, your journey, and I’m here to help you make sense of it all, in a way that feels right for you.

My first session

Your First Session – No Forms, No Clipboards, Just Real Talk

Starting therapy can feel daunting, so let’s keep it simple. Our first session is about getting to know each other—no paperwork, no assessments, no ticking boxes. Just a real conversation about what’s going on for you and how I might be able to help.

We’ll chat in a way that feels natural and comfortable. Maybe that’s sitting inside with a coffee, hot chocolate, or a can of Coke Zero (and a biscuit, because why not?). Or maybe you’d prefer to walk and talk outside in the fresh air. There’s no pressure to open up straight away—this is your space, and we go at your pace.

I offer a free, no-obligation introductory video call, so you can get a feel for me and how I work before committing to anything. If you decide to continue, we’ll find a rhythm that works for you—whether that’s weekly, fortnightly, or something more flexible.

If you’re ready to take that first step, reach out.

About me and my therapy practice

I Know How Hard This First Step Can Be—You Don’t Have to Do It Alone

Reaching out for help can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re used to carrying everything on your own. Maybe you’re struggling with alcohol issues, addiction, ADHD, sexual abuse, trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, or complex PTSD. Maybe you don’t even know where to start—you just know you can’t keep feeling like this. Whatever it is, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.

I’m Louise, I offer something a little different. No stiff office, no endless paperwork—just a safe, down-to-earth space where you can start making sense of things in a way that works for you. Whether we’re sitting with a coffee and a chocolate biscuit, walking in the fresh air, or exploring emotions through creative therapy, this is your space, and we’ll go at your pace.

I know that talking about the tough stuff isn’t easy. That’s why we start by just getting to know each other—no pressure to dive into the deep end. The first part of therapy is about creating safety, so you feel grounded before we even begin to unpack anything heavy. I get how anxiety, fear, and shame can make it hard to open up, and while I may not have lived your exact experience, I truly understand what it’s like to carry big emotions.

Sometimes, talking isn’t enough—that’s where creative therapy comes in. Whether it’s storytelling, art, or metaphor, we can find other ways to explore what’s going on inside. I also offer walk-and-talk therapy on my seven-acre smallholding, where you can move while you think, breathe in the fresh air, and process your feelings in a way that feels more natural.

Therapy with me isn’t just about fixing problems—it’s about helping you feel lighter, stronger, and more like yourself again. All emotions are welcome here—anger, sadness, fear, embarrassment, shame. Whatever you bring, we’ll work through it together.

If you’re ready to take that first step, let’s chat.

My first session

No Pressure, Just Support

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but it doesn’t have to be intimidating. I keep things relaxed, down-to-earth, and tailored to you. No jargon—just real conversations in a space where you can feel safe to be yourself.

How?

🔹 It’s Personal – You’re not just another client to me. We’ll take our time getting to know each other, building trust so you feel comfortable opening up when you’re ready. There’s no rush and no pressure—just a safe, non-judgmental space to figure things out together.

🔹 I Get It – I know how hard it can be to talk about painful experiences. Anxiety, fear, shame—all those heavy emotions can feel overwhelming. I’ve been there myself, and I’ll meet you with warmth, honesty, and genuine understanding.

🔹 More Than Just Talking – Sometimes, words aren’t enough. That’s why I offer creative therapy, using art, storytelling, and other tools to help process emotions in a different way. If sitting still in a room doesn’t feel right, we can also walk and talk outdoors in the beautiful Kent countryside—because sometimes, moving your body helps move your thoughts too.

🔹 Flexible & Comfortable – If we meet face-to-face, you’ll find yourself in a warm, inviting space with the world’s comfiest sofas, a hot coffee, Coke Zero, or a chocolate biscuit (because therapy should feel like self-care, not a chore). Prefer to be outside? My seven-acre smallholding offers plenty of space to breathe. I also offer limited online sessions for those who need them.

How I can Help

✔️ Feel Lighter – Manage anxiety, depression, and overwhelm so life feels less like a battle.

✔️ Rebuild Self-Esteem – Break free from self-doubt and start seeing your worth.

✔️ Heal from Trauma – Work through past experiences in a way that feels safe and manageable.

✔️ Improve Relationships – Learn to set boundaries, communicate better, and feel more connected to the people around you.

Taking the first step can feel scary, but you don’t have to do it alone.
