About me and my therapy practice
I’m an integrative therapist working in private practice in London and online.
I have a vast experience spanning over 30 years engaging with and mentoring people in various working environments including my time as a qualified teacher, a self-employed HR Director, working with the judiciary and with a variety of charities. Consequently, I have a wide, first-hand knowledge of those who experience difficulties within both the corporate and charity sectors. Before beginning my own practice, I worked within the NHS and a counselling service supporting individuals with a range of issues. I have extensive experience working with clients from different backgrounds, cultures, life experiences and perspectives.
I provide an environment where you can express your feelings and talk about things you may not be comfortable discussing with anyone else. We will work at your pace, and the sessions will be led by you. I will offer a space for you to be heard and accepted without judgement and I’ll be there to support you. We will reflect on what may or may not be working for you in your life and look at patterns of behaviour so that you become more aware of who you are and tackle the root causes.
I offer a flexible and thoughtful approach to each client’s therapy. I will support you throughout and suggest practical feedback to help you explore and resolve your current problems.
Practice description
I’m committed to helping you through whatever you’re dealing with, and I have a range of counselling skills to use in a way that works for you. My will support you through self-exploration, root causes, growth, building up resilience and practicing self-compassion.
My approach is to challenge you and give you the techniques and life tools to stay focused on becoming your authentic, true self.
We can cover:
• Developing resilience
• Personal growth and transformation
• Healing from trauma
• Overcoming stress, burnout, depression & anxiety
• Develop healthy boundaries i.e. to say a compassionate 'No'
• Understanding relationship dynamics
• Connecting more deeply with your inner self
• Learning to access your intuition and innate wisdom
• Finding meaning and purpose in your life
My first session
Before our first session I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation, this gives you an opportunity to briefly outline your current circumstances and enables me to consider if I might be able to help you.
After the "discovery call", if its mutually agreed to go ahead with formal sessions, I would ask you to complete an assessment form before our first formal session.
In our first session I would like to hear a little of your life experience and the issues you’re facing that have brought you to therapy. We can talk about your previous experience of therapy, your expectations, your goals and how we will work together. It’s an opportunity to see if we are a good fit, and for you to answer questions you may have.
If you decide to go ahead, we will arrange a mutually convenient day and time for our weekly sessions.
