About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Lynn (she/her), a qualified relational counsellor working in an integrative way that draws on different therapeutic approaches (particularly person-centred and family systems). This approach focuses primarily on the therapeutic relationship and allows me to shape my approach to meet your individual needs and to work collaboratively with you.
I understand that opening up and trusting someone can be difficult, and I hope to make it easier by offering a warm, safe, non-judgemental and confidential space.
I am an inclusive, genuine, and compassionate person; I also believe that counselling can benefit everyone. You don’t need to know exactly what you’re looking for or to have specific goals. Counselling can help you to understand and make sense of your situation and what you are feeling, and this understanding can help you to feel empowered to make lasting changes in ways that work for you. Because of my experiences, I am drawn to supporting people who are navigating the complex emotions surrounding estrangement and familial conflict. I believe that every story deserves to be heard, and I am dedicated to providing a safe, compassionate space for you to explore your feelings of rejection, loss, and healing.
I have worked with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, suicide ideation, and the effects of domestic abuse. I also have an in-depth understanding of the challenges that come from difficult family relationships, including family estrangement. I recognise that family issues can evoke intense feelings of sadness, anger, and confusion and counselling can help you to acknowledge and work with the pain towards a sense of peace and acceptance and counselling can help you to acknowledge and work with the pain towards a sense of peace and acceptance.
