About me and my therapy practice

I am a person-centred therapist offering in-person and online sessions. My practice is rooted in the belief that there is significant value in understanding ourselves and the world around us. With this in mind, I strive to offer a non-judgemental, collaborative and authentic space to allow for the exploration and processing of experiences and emotions in a safe and grounded way.

I have gained experience in working with an incredibly diverse client base, including children and young people, addiction, mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression, grief and bereavement, and chronic pain and/or illness. This also includes issues unique to neurodivergent people (i.e., autism, ADHD, OCD) and the LGBT+ community. I have also worked extensively with male and female survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence through the commissioned service in Cornwall.

Practice description

No matter your background and/or identity, my practice is anchored on offering genuine empathy, acceptance and authenticity as this allows space for a relationship that can facilitate therapeutic benefit.

Person-centred counselling is non-directive; put simply, each session is led by you, and we will work together at your pace suited to explore experiences and emotions.

As a qualified person-centred counsellor I hold myself to the highest ethical standards and practice within the ethical framework set out by the BACP.

My first session

Our first session will be a chance for us to meet and get to know each other. I ask that we agree to a counselling agreement which sets out our mutual responsibilities within our relationship. This includes things like my obligations as a member of the BACP and expectations around time-keeping etc.

If you would like to discuss arranging a session, please email me at cparkertherapy@gmail.com and I will get in contact as soon as possible. Most of my practice is conducted online, however by request I am happy to hold face to face sessions where possible. Please note, I ask that for new clients I ask for payment of the session at time of booking.

Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, AIDS/HIV, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Menopause, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, OCD, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Service veterans, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Substance Dependency, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
