About me and my therapy practice

I’m a Humanistic Person-Centred Counsellor, committed to offering a compassionate and empathetic environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. We all experience challenges and difficulties in our lives and sometimes there's a need to reach out to someone who will listen caringly and provide realistic support and guidance. I can be there alongside you, providing a safe and confidential space in which you can explore your experiences positively.

This exploration often leads to a greater understanding of self which is the beginning of change. My approach is rooted in creating a safe space, respecting your confidentiality, and ensuring you feel comfortable and supported throughout your therapeutic journey. With years of experience, I understand that an individual's experience is unique.

I aim to meet you with genuine empathy, listen without judgment and encourage you to express yourself freely. Our therapeutic relationship will be built on trust and respect, allowing you to explore your inner world in a nurturing setting. I am dedicated to helping you navigate life's challenges with compassion and understanding, empowering you to live a more fulfilling and authentic life. Your well-being is my utmost priority and I am here to guide you on your journey to overcome challenges and difficulties that lead to mental and emotional wellness.

In our sessions, I prioritise creating a welcoming atmosphere where you can feel at ease. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or simply seeking personal growth, I am here to empower you to discover your strengths and find your path forward. Together, we can work towards greater self-awareness and healing.

Practice description

My  practice is dedicated to offering  clients Humanistic, Person-Centred and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) face-to-face, online and telephone counselling:

• Face-to-face open-ended, counselling sessions for 50 minutes per session. (Long-term, short-term sessions or in blocks with a regular review to measure your progress in a safe and confidential location

• Online counselling, open-ended counselling sessions for 50 minutes per session by invitation via a media platform in your chosen location with a regular review to measure your progress.

• Telephone Time-limited counselling sessions for 50 minutes via a phone number of your choice in a safe and confidential location with a regular review to measure your progress.

Benefits in each delivery

Face-to-face counselling offers in-person interaction and builds rapport with your counsellor. We can read body language and non-verbal cues to bring better awareness and better understanding of you and your needs. The location is safe, and natural, a space to explore and grow and provide therapeutic support through various interventions

Online Counselling provides counselling therapy from your home at a time that suits you and gives you peace of mind in not having to commute. It gives you the confidence that you will not be seen entering and leaving the counsellor’s practice. You can receive counselling at a time, place and pace that is best suited to you. Access counselling on a media platform that you feel comfortable with.

Telephone Counselling provides flexibility and more options for availability and accessibility. You may have a busy lifestyle so accessing counselling via this media saves time on commuting to the counselling location

My first session

What to expect in the first session

Our initial contact will be a FREE 15-minute telephone consultation to determine whether I am the right counsellor for you. It also allows me to understand why you are seeking counselling, your background and your hopes for attending therapy.

There is no pressure to begin regular therapy beyond this point if either of us feels we are not the right fit for any reason. If we agree to work together, we will arrange an appointment for a full 50-minute session. This might be your first experience in speaking to someone completely independent, and I want you to feel comfortable and understand fully how therapy can help you.

In this session, an assessment will be carried out as a measurement to determine levels of psychological distress and a working agreement is signed on which our therapeutic relationship is formed and serves as the foundation for our journey forward..
